Foley Artist
About this Role
Foley artists are magicians of sound. They're the ones who bring the aural textures of the game world to life, from the satisfying crunch of footsteps on different surfaces to the clinking of armor and the whoosh of a sword swing. Just like their film counterparts, game Foley artists use everyday objects and their own creative ingenuity to recreate, enhance, or replace sounds that were either poorly captured during development or simply don't exist in the real world. They're the alchemist of squeaks and pops, transforming celery stalks into crackling flames, leather jackets into flapping dragon wings, and bowls of cereal into the crunching footsteps of trolls.
